IT IS TOO EARLY TO WRITE THIS INDIAN TEAM OFF

It is no secret that 2011 has been a real feast for test aficionados, myself included. It is, hence, natural for one to expect 2011 to go one better.
We’ll start off with the SCG test. There couldn’t have been a better build up to it with the underdogs beating the favourites. But, come on guys, how many times have we seen this? India performing badly on the first test and turning the tide right back to the opposition in the next test? The MCG defeat is our 5th consecutive overseas defeat, yes, but wasn’t it concluded ages ago that that abject failure in England was an aberration due to a lot of already debated factors? Wat about the overseas stats before the English tour? Vanished into thin air? The critics, most of them have had a field day lambasting the indian team after the MCG defeat. The calls for gambhir and the big 3 to be replaced with is totally uncalled for. Wasn’t the same team adjudged to be the ‘the best INDIAN team at the moment’ a week back?
There is something else that is being forgotten here. The batting failure was been masking something else. The indian bowling has its own concerns. And this one in specific has been perennial. Are the indian bowlers lacking in cleaning up the tail??? Forget the two innings in the MCG test, this has been happening for quite some time in all three formats. The top order of the opposition has been cleaned up fast and the tail has been allowed to score runs. Ridiculous. This area surely needs looking into. To be a world beater a team needs to be clinical and merciless.
I’ve said it before and will say it again. It is too early too write this indian team off. Come 2nd January , another unannounced shift in momentum  that this team is famous for can be expected. A cracker of a test match on the offing. Fingers crossed!!!!
